While on Spring break with my family in April, I found this gorgeous coral rock on the beach. My kids and husband always make fun of me because I bring an extra bag with me every time I go to the beach for all of my found treasures. This is probably one of the biggest treasures I’ve taken home, but I knew exactly what I wanted to do: paint it!
All you need are some watercolors. I always take this Grumbacher opaque paint set with me on vacations, and a paint brush. You never know when you might get inspired to paint something!
It was fun to paint, all my kids helped. I just left it out for a little while and people came and went.
This is the beach where I found the coral. The Guanahani resort in St. Barth’s is – I mean was – one of the most beautiful. Hurricane Erma completely destroyed it. My dad lives in St. Barth’s part of the year and so we have been many times before. It was shocking to see it so devastated. I’m glad we were able to create a piece of art from the rubble.
